This work draws on the theory of shadow work by Psychoanalyst Carl Jung. He said “We carry our past with us… and it is only with enormous effort that we can detach ourselves from this burden.” Utilising the slow and meditative practice of hand embroidery as a bodily act of healing, the artist works to interrogate unravel and subvert personal narratives.
